His father Pablo Forla¡n had played for the Uruguay national football team during the 1966 FIFA World Cup held in England and the 1974 FIFA World Cup held in West Germany and his grandfather Juan Carlos Corazo played for Independiente, in Argentina. He has dual citizenship - Uruguayan and Spanish.

Real Mallorca continued their sublime form at home this season as they overpowered 10-man Atletico Madrid. The victory sees them climbing into the top four of the league.
The islanders were set on their way courtesy Victor Casadesus who put the home side in front as early as the 10th minute. Diego Forlan equalized at almost halfway point of the first half but that is as far as they got.
