Round 23 Italian Serie A

Serie A leaders Juventus suffered their second consecutive defeat when they lost 1-0 at Palermo on Saturday.
The result left Juventus on 50 points from 23 matches, five ahead of champions AC Milan, who host Lazio on Sunday.

Other Group Highlights

ATALANTA 1 LIVORNO 0
A 23rd-minute strike by defender Luigi Sala gave Atalanta only its second win of the season, but the team remains six points adrift at the bottom of the league.

BRESCIA 0 UDINESE 1
Relegation-threatened Brescia rarely escaped its own half in this one-sided match. The team's stubborn resistance seemed to have earned a point, but five minutes from time Udinese striker Vincenzo Iaquinta snatched a winner to lift his team to third.

CAGLIARI 3 LECCE 1
First-half goals by Cagliari midfielder Massimo Gobbi and Mirko Vucinic cancelled each other out, but the 54th-minute dismissal of Lecce keeper Vincenzo Sicignano for a clumsy tackle on Mauro Esposito turned the match. Esposito struck twice in the last 16 minutes to seal the win.

CHIEVO VERONA 1 MESSINA 0
Chievo climbed seven points clear of the relegation zone thanks to Simone Tiribocchi's 15th-minute goal. Messina's chances of fighting their way back into the match ended when midfielder Gaetano D'Agostino was sent off nine minutes from the end.

PARMA 2 INTER MILAN 2
Reduced to ten men by the 34th-minute dismissal of defender Marco Materazzi and trailing 2-0 after goals by Fabio Simplicio -- a penalty -- and Alberto Gilardino, Inter produced another of its memorable comebacks.

Ivan Cordoba pulled one back in the 76th minute, nodding Sinisa Mihajlovic's cross past keeper Sebastian Frey, and Christian Vieri got the equalizer six minutes later from the penalty spot after Cordoba had been fouled.

REGGINA 3 SIENA 3
Simone Vergassola's goal and a brace by former Italy international Enrico Chiesa put Siena 3-1 up with ten minutes remaining. Late strikes by striker Marco Borriello and midfielder Carlos Paredes saved Reggina's unbeaten start to 2005.

AS ROMA 1 BOLOGNA 1
For the second game in a row Roma surrendered the lead to draw 1-1. Roma seemed in control when Vincenzo Montella put them ahead after nine minutes. Francesco Totti went close to doubling their lead shortly after the break with a free kick that slammed off the post, but in the 62nd minute Luigi Della Rocca took advantage of Roma's failure to clear a low cross to slide in an equalizer.

AC MILAN 2 LAZIO 1
Italian champions Milan slashed Juventus's lead at the top of Serie A to two points by coming from behind to beat Lazio.Massimo Oddo put the visitors ahead from the penalty spot in the 56th minute after Jaap Stam's foul on Tommaso Rocchi.

Andriy Shevchenko pulled one back for Milan with a superb 30-metre free kick and in the fourth minute of added time Hernan Crespo poked home the loose ball after a Kaka shot rebounded off the post.

See Vergassola was the provider as he released Chiesa with a well timed through ball, and the striker shrugged off the attentions of Juriy Cannarsa before slotting the ball past the stranded Pavarini.
See Shunsuke Nakamura swung in a quickly taken free-kick, and Franceschini reacted well to lose his marker and meet the ball with an unstoppable diving header.

Congratulations to fc Encoding Winners

Congratulations! As regular visitor would know, Footballclips hosted an encoding competition, (forum) to see who could encode the best video
It started off great getting 15 entries, but as the competition came near, there were pull outs and and only two entries submitted their encodes.

So congratulations to Gerrard(Ghoeberx) winning 1st prize - $100 usd and FootballFreakPlayer who took out 2nd prize - $30.
Each payment has been sent through each winners preferred method.

In hindisght I think its been a badly run competition, but I've also learned quite a bit, so there are some negatives and positives to be gained from this. The next competition footballclips hosts, it will be more properly managed, I'm sure of it.
So thanks all to everyone who got involved.

FootballClips Forum - Milestone 1000 posts

It was an amazing feat for this forum in such a short time, forum has established itself as a contender. Its been an up and down rollercoaster ride over the past few months, with losing a couple of months of information and then with all the downtime and recently more downtime and problems. Not to mention slow speeds. We've recovered and are now using a much faster Server, and some more techniques about getting the most out the forum.

Some big things planned for the forum, including
* selling and buying Football memorablia
* More Videos clips
* Integration between the two sites
* Organisation of the forums into specific videos topics.
* Installing of some key modules
