Liverpool's Saudi investor......

Their has been a lot of talk of a potential takeover by a Saudi prince. As many English clubs are being bought by foreign investors,is this going to have repercussions, good or bad in the future?

I heard that talks have stopped for the time being! however alot of foreign investment has gone into a few of the prem clubs including Portsmouth but our guy has never made a press statement and is worryingly very very quiet!

Mmm not sure if foreign investment is the way forward, Gate prices will go through the roof, player transfer will just be stupid, all the money men will just be competing against each other.

What i'm worried about is,say if your Chelsea or any of the clubs who have heavy backing financially what would happen if they turned round and pulled out. This would ruin Chelsea as the cash cow would desert the scene.

I can see your worrys mate and honestly dont know the anser to this however In the past when Clubs have spent too much money and then suddenly lose there form and reputation they slide off to the lower leagues, Im not say Liverpool will ever lose there reputation but they certainly will lose a portion of there fan base If anything ever went wrong and they ended in the championship.

I doubt this would ever happen but as Im typing this Im thinking of how big Leeds where 3-4 years ago.

Things will go around and come around. Even if the big money pulls out, someone will step into their place. I would not worry, sports teams always find someone to take the place of an outgoing owner. But the team will just have to be more selective when purchasing players. They can't go slurge on a Ballack when they already have big names on the team already that play the same position.

money money money, sigh... why can't clubs, especially the bigger ones look to emulate the arsenal and how we do it, no foreign investors, spend only when necessary in the transfer market etc...

I'm against all kinds of purchases. I was against the Chelsea, United, and West Ham purchases. Just look at what Chelsea did to the transfer market, they inflated player prices, which isn't good for teams that don't have the ability to write an open check.
